Hair Removal Choices Abound
Humans are covered with hair but you would not know that by looking at most of us. Hair removal is something that nearly every adult deals with at some point in his or her lifetime.
Men pull out their razor blades or rev up their electric razors each morning to remove hair from their faces and necks. Women use razors to remove hair from their underarms, legs and bikini areas.
While razors are probably the most common method of hair removal, they may not represent the best methods of hair removal. Shaving is quick and easy, but temporary, since it only removes the hair above the skin line.

Removing hair by plucking it with tweezers is a more permanent solution since the entire hair is removed from the follicle. However, the hair will still grow back since the follicle remains in place. This method is best used for small area such as the mustache area and chin on women and the eyebrows.
Waxing is another method that can be used. In this method, wax is warmed enough so that it melts, but kept cool enough to coat the skin comfortably. Once the wax cools, adhering to the skin, it is quickly pulled off, taking the hair out of the follicle.
Chemical hair removal creams are available that work by causing a disruption in the bond between the hair and skin. The hair then comes smoothly out of the follicle. These can take more time than traditional hair removal methods and can be irritating to the skin.
Electrolysis permanently removes hair. A thin needle is inserted into each follicle and an electrical current is used to burn the area.
Laser hair removal uses much the same technique as this. It can be less painful, however. Both methods require numerous treatments to prevent regrowth.
